The turning point in his career came when he joined Climate Policy Initiative (CPI), taking a significant salary cut to align with his passion for creating societal impact. At CPI, he contributed to pioneering work in climate finance, notably helping design the India Innovation Lab for Green Finance. One of his most impactful projects involved creating a business case for Indian Railways’ transition to clean energy, which influenced their decision to increase renewable energy procurement targets from 1GW to 5GW.

Currently, Saurabh is pursuing a PhD at Macquarie University, Sydney, through Rozetta Institute’s industry-PhD program, while working with IEEFA. His research focuses on analyzing climate risk in financial asset pricing and identifying decarbonization strategies for polluting sectors.
